Type Locality and Naming

By location east of the Aktau Mountains, S. Tamdytau, C. Kyzylkum. Identified by participants of the Stratigraphic Conference in the Muruntau Mountains in the fall of 1992 (Abduazimova et al., 1993). Exposed as a tectonic outlier in the area of the Dzhamankyngyr settlement (S. Tamdytau), known as "Ryvkin's Satellite".

Synonym: East Aktau Suite, Восточноактауская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Gray fine-grained, sometimes marly, layered dolomites, dolomitized limestones with rare layers of clayey slates. Thickness 120m.
